CRM Developer Toolkit - Visual Studio 2012 Crashing

After installing the Visual Studio 2012 version of CRM Developer Toolkit on my home machine I was immediately disappointed when Visual Studio threw this at me every time I compiled and forced itself to restart.

I checked the event logs and came back with this error:

Not too much help. I then proceeded to install on my work machine and ran into the same issue. After some searching, I couldn't find anyone running into this issue. Finally I installed on a virtual machine I was using and at last I could compile without a crash. After a little thinking of what the differences between the 3 environments were I realized it was probably a conflict with another extension that was installed.

So on one of the problem machines I reset my setting and blew away the extensions I had installed. After re-installing one by one and testing I found the culprit. The Visual Studio Achievements For VS 2012 extension was causing the issue. Not wanting to give up the possibility of getting an award for having swear words in my code I dug a little deeper.

Specifically having FxCop enabled was causing the issue, once that as disabled the problems went away.
